The Hardy Learning Evaluation, a component of the Hardy Brain Training™ program, identifies 4 key gaps in the critical skills needed to excel in school.
Key Area #1: The actual foundation for learning is made up of Processing Skills that help the brain receive information, organize it, process it, and store it. These skills support the Learning Skills in Key Area #2.
Key Area #2: Learning Skills, like attention, memory and organization, give your child the ability to study and learn to be able to stay at grade level without needing extra help.
Key Area #3: Academic Skills need to be learned to stay at grade level each year and cumulatively give your child a complete ‘education’ so s/he is ready for adulthood.
Key Area #4: Confidence both results from, and is needed for, successful learning. As confidence grows, your child becomes more willing to try, even when learning is difficult because it is also rewarding.
The Hardy Evaluation evaluates academic skills as well as underlying processing and learning skills like timing, cognitive, and executive functioning that create the foundation for learning successfully.
These underlying skills create the support needed for learning academic information quickly and easily. Gaps in processing and learning skills create gaps in academic skills that can lead to your child falling behind in class. Struggling to overcome the skill gaps, rather than concentrating on learning the material to stay at grade level, makes it hard for your child to stay caught up without extra help.
The Hardy Evaluation uses video sessions with you and your child and combines that with questionnaires, assessments, tests, and reports from school, psychologists, therapists, and other professionals from whom you’ve sought help to develop a complete picture of where your child is struggling.
The Hardy Learning Evaluation uses this information to discover WHY your child has academic gaps and pinpoints the underlying processing skills that need to be strengthened, the learning skills that need to be developed, and the academic areas that need improvement for your child to learn easily.
Once the gaps are identified, we design a ‘blueprint’ plan to strengthen processing skills, learning skills, and academic skills so your child can start to improve at school and feel more confident. Strong skills and good self-confidence set the path for lifelong success.

In-Depth Learning Blueprint Helps Students at All Levels
Successful learning requires a series of tools because specific skills are required for success at different developmental levels. These skills are developed over time and stack like blocks with early skills providing support for new skills to be added as a child matures.
When there are gaps, it becomes difficult to add new skills because the foundation is weak and cannot fully support the addition of new skills.
Children will try to compensate for the missing skill areas and often intelligent children are able to ‘try harder’ to make up for weak processing and learning skills…until the academic load gets too heavy. When children are not able to handle the information they need to organize in order to learn, frustration develops.
Your child may need to work longer and harder just to keep up in class and their opportunity to excel diminishes. They are not able to use their intelligence for learning because their mental effort is needed to compensate for processing skill gaps that make learning more difficult.
Once processing and learning skills are strong, your child can advance to grade level and beyond.
